ALX Ghana reactivated dormant leads that had already been written off, without a single new acquisition. By switching from "Enroll Now" blasts to value-first WhatsApp messages, registrations jumped from 149 to over 2,000.

The Challenge

ALX Ghana had thousands of applicants who filled out forms, showed interest, then went silent. Email follow-ups were not landing. The team had tried everything and was stuck at low registrations from the same list. These leads were written off as dead.

What They Did

Import the "dead" lead list

ALX partnered with Intelli and imported their existing lead list: the same contacts that had already been written off.

Design value-first WhatsApp messages

Instead of another "Enroll Now" blast, they designed two value-first WhatsApp messages: a free webinar invitation ("Breaking into Tech") with zero enrollment pressure, and a 1-month free access voucher framed as a gift, not a pitch.

Invite dialogue, not action

They used conversational buttons like "Learn More" and "Is this right for me?" that invited dialogue instead of demanding action. No hard CTAs.

Automate follow-up with sequences

Sequences automated follow-up based on how users responded, so engaged leads got different next steps than those who just opened.

Results
